I can remember distinctly, in the wild west of the internets before I discovered RSS feeds, probably contributing significantly to the non-unique hit counter of Oblimo's site with my incessant refresh-monkeying. When it got good, man, it was more addictive than crack, and for what seemed like years, the words seemed to flow like clockwork, four thousand words or so every few days. Never enough to fully satiate my love of greek mythology and physically-impossible sex scenes both, but enough to slake the thirst until the next time.
In other words, my name is David Ogilvy*, and I'm a Goo-girl-a-holic.
*not my real name. For a detailed explanation of why it's my chosen internet pseudonym, read Orwell's Nineteen Eighty-Four. |

Hi, David!
I love writing weird porn, but then real life work offered me serious $ if I took it seriously, and now my creative juices are sluicing in more boring directions.
However, it seems I've become a workaholic, and one of the first steps of breaking the addiction to wage-slavery if reigniting a hobby. Help me break my addiction to...business systems process improvement analysis!
Believe it or not, business systems analysis is fun; it's the exact same job as designing a sophisticated computer game, except that the actual game people play is boring as hell. All the strategy and thought behind constructing the game are exactly the same. The only difference is, alas, the fun. In a computer game, people keep playing if the game produces enough Fun. With business systems, people keep playing if the system produces enough efficiency and efficacy to make their jobs less unfun.
Thus, the fun is missing from my creative output. _________________ Tell your mom, tell your friends:

In a way oblimo, you DO produce the same result as a game.
While a game is designed to generate 'fun' within a user. (Thus tweaking the ratio of fun(love, life's boons, positive stressors, ie: wife in lingerie):unfun (work, life's pitfalls, negative stressors, ie: working late on a friday) This is done by adding more 'fun' to the fun side of the ratio.
Your job results in the same effect but is the opposite on the opposing side.
Rather than add to the ratio, you subtract. Specifically you subtract from the unfun side's stressors from the programs being used. By increasing their efficiency and general user friendliness you reduce the negative stress or 'unfun' of the work itself, improving the ratio toward the fun side.
That... was... really... BORING... and basically the same thing you just said....
wow.... I suck at expounding *fail face* |

This work of literature is one of the most captivating pieces I've read in awhile. I'd never heard of goo-girls before, and I'm glad your story was my first glance at them. I really enjoyed it and would love to read more. Maybe a whole new cast in a different locale? Just an idea. _________________ Everyone writes on the walls except me. -Said to be graffiti seen in Pompeii |

Y'know, porn doesn't usually give me life lessons (or make me laugh so much), but I think I got one out of your awesome story:
If someone offers you something "For you, five dollar," run away as fast as you can.
That said, Yves is a fucking badass. A gay badass, but still a badass.
I will never look at Jell-o the same way again... |

I don't know about that, as it turned out well enough in the end. I already have the colorful cadre of bizarre but absolutely faithful friends; if the final outcome is that plus winding up with a Galatea (or, even better, male-friendly Nyx-type) of my very own, I would consider the entire exercise more than worthwhile. Up to and including the brushes with death and the substantial property damage. |

No news here - in fact, this is the main reason I keep tabs on the forums. |

Non-update: checked his story wiki and DeviantArt page. Nada; looks like nothing's been touched in months. |

Hence the rather specific parameters of my conditional statement. |

Right now, for a while now, the sequel outline suffers from Too Much Plot, Not Enough Sex. But there will be moar.

Interesting. And somewhat encouraging - if the alternatives are a) loss of the author (as us Stephen King fans can attest is a concern; his road-side near-death experience had Tower junkies the world over hoping for his recovery), b) a loss of interest by the author, c) lack of a suitable plot, d) lack of time and/or motivation to continue and/or e) some sort of mechanical or legal problem... well, if the biggest problem our artist is facing is not having enough sex in the book, then I for one am relieved that it's something relatively easily overcome. Having done some small amount of fictional writing myself, I find that the biggest problem is not knowing where the story should go next. Judging from his comment he seems to have a particular story to tell; this is highly encouraging.
Thanatos; I know what "/b/" is without additional context, but I'm not familiar with "/d/"; can you tell when that message was posted?
Update: just dropped a polite note on his DeviantArt page asking if he could pop in on the forum and give us a little direct info. Hopefully he will. |

Ah - so, same place as /b/. I thought it might be, but didn't want to assume.
That's accurate enough; I was just curious as to if the post was made recently or if you'd just come across an old post recently. Thanks for the clarification. |
